In this 3-hour immersive workshop, we’ll take a modern, mindful approach to hands-on assisting—one that values consent, science, and student empowerment over outdated, hierarchical methods.

You’ll learn to offer support through touch that is:

  • Anatomically informed

  • Respectful of boundaries

  • Empowering, not correcting

  • Grounded in kinesthetic intelligence and proprioception

We’ll explore the evolution of assisting from the traditional guru-student model to a more collaborative, trauma-aware, and choice-driven method. This includes current best practices around:

  • Asking for explicit permission to touch

  • Honoring student agency and autonomy

  • Enhancing nervous system regulation through touch

  • Supporting rehabilitative movement through informed assists

Whether you’re a yoga teacher, movement guide, or simply curious about the role of touch in learning and healing—this workshop will leave you with new insights and hands-on tools you can apply immediately.

Expect a mix of lecture, demonstration, and plenty of guided practice.
