WHY EMBODIED POSTURE
Embodied Posture Professional Training is built upon nearly two decades of educating yoga teachers and movement professionals through a methodology that recognizes every body is unique.
You'll be guided by Stacy Dockins, creator of the Embodied Posture Method™ and author of Embodied Posture: Your Unique Body and Yoga, a text used by yoga teacher training programs across the United States. Since 2007, Stacy and Dave have trained hundreds of teachers, refining the Embodied Posture Method through the experiences of thousands of students and practitioners.
At the heart of Embodied Posture is a simple belief: we don't teach what every body should do—we teach how to understand what each unique body needs. Grounded in Stacy's background in movement science and orthopedic rehabilitation, the Embodied Posture Method goes beyond poses and sequencing. You'll develop the ability to observe movement with greater clarity, understand the anatomical and functional needs of individual bodies, and teach with confidence, precision, and compassion.
Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach to yoga, you'll graduate with a practical framework for adapting movement to the unique needs of every student you teach—an approach that prepares you to meet people where they are and help them move toward where they want to be.

What Will You Learn?
Embodied Posture Foundational Sequence
Discover how the Embodied Posture Foundational Sequence serves as a flexible framework rather than a rigid formula. We've thoughtfully evolved a familiar vinyasa sequence to better reflect modern postural tendencies and the diverse needs of today's practitioners. You'll learn how to adapt, modify, and improvise from this foundation to create practices that meet each unique student where they are.
Embodiment-Influenced Cueing
Develop communication skills that invite curiosity rather than compliance. Through embodiment-based cueing, you'll learn how to guide students toward greater self-awareness, helping them cultivate agency, confidence, and a deeper connection to their own experience instead of simply following instructions.
Anatomy Through the Embodied Posture Lens
Move beyond memorizing muscles and bones to develop a practical understanding of anatomy that directly informs your teaching. You'll learn to recognize common movement patterns, appreciate bio-individual differences, and make thoughtful decisions that support the unique needs of every body.
Foundational Functional Movement Principles
Explore yoga as a practice that extends far beyond the mat. By examining fundamental movement patterns through the Embodied Posture Method, you'll learn how to cultivate strength, adaptability, and movement quality that supports lifelong health, resilience, and everyday function.
Mindfulness as the Heart of the Practice
Mindfulness is more than a meditation technique—it is the foundation of how we teach and how we learn. You'll discover how to create experiences that encourage presence, self-inquiry, and meaningful connection, allowing mindfulness to naturally inform both your teaching and your students' practice.
The Embodied Posture Teaching Method
Refine your authentic teaching voice while developing the communication skills that create safe, engaging, and effective classes. Together, we'll explore the art of pacing, timing, language, observation, and clear cueing so you can teach with confidence, clarity, and compassion.
